JAMAICA’s

NUCLEAR ENGINEERING BOOTCAMP

Jamaicans pay more for electricity than

almost anyone else on Earth.

The first Jamaican to get a Phd in Nuclear Engineering, Charlyne Smith, believes that the island’s future rests on replacing their dependence on imported fossil fuels with local nuclear reactors.

This film follows her return to her former high school to pass on some of her valuable knowledge and motivate a new generation to join her movement.

*Aired on Jamaican Public Television in 2023.
