We head two kilometers deep inside a nickel mine to see about a tiny lead box, home to the Earth’s lowest-radiation environment. Potentially the lowest-radiation environment in the universe. The experiment going on inside the box has the potential to transform how we see nuclear radiation and its impacts on life on the planet.
